About Teaching the Natives
I am an educator who is returning to the workforce after 8 years being at home with my children.
Since I have been away from the world education, the world has changed. No Child Left Behind (NCLB) has polarized the community. Accountability, testing, and standards are the norm. Classrooms have become more connected, with each other and the world.
The most notable change since leaving however, is the use of technology in the classroom. In 2002, computers were in the computer lab and maybe at the teacher’s desk. Today, in some schools, the students have netbooks or itouches. Students have their own cell phones, mp3 players, and laptops. They have never known a time without the world being at their fingertips.
Join me and the natives as we learn and get excited about science!

Hey Lisa,
All the power to you teaching HS students!
